In an article in BBC News 3 October 2008, Shiels wrote a story on how Obama uses iPhone to gain the support and win the election. The Obama election campaign team launched an application by using Apple iPhone, aimed to attract more voters. There are three targeted audience, the young voters, the non-white and also the women in America (Schiffers, 2008).

Barack Obama is one of the most influential men who won the election through iPhone. On January 20th 2009, it was the day of 44th President of the United States of America. The story of the success is simple as he had incorporated with various forms of media as a political tool to gain his supporters. For example, social networking websites (Facebook), or even video sharing networks like YouTube. Using technology is a smart move where people spend most of their time with the new technology. Internet also play a crucial role in order to make it a success, through YouTube, official websites and several web 2.0 applications, the news about the candidate will spread very fast.

Looking at Barack Obama’s political campaign website, the new media has formed a fresh look as the website becomes a platform that can connect to other websites through hyperlinking and tagging. The application provides up-to-date news from the campaign, videos, and photos to convince publics to vote for the candidate. There are two types of contexts, situational and culture. Western countries are technologically advanced, thus, this tactic will make a change on the situation, and it is indeed a very wise political decision.

In conclusion, the tactic used by Obama with iPhone to win the votes from publics definitely a smart choice which made him the current President of the United States.
